It’s Alive! First Blog Entry

Hi I’m Paul and this is my blog. I will try to keep this updated as I work on my first game: a local multi-player, versus, dual joystick shooter. The game is scripted in C# on the Unity 3D engine. Nearly all aspects (from weapons to movement to environment behavior) will randomise for each round. The aim is to adapt to multiple randomised elements and defeat the other players. More details and screenshots coming soon.

  1. Hello,
I also worked on a twin stick shooter recently. I think the biggest problem that I faced from a game design standpoint is the rate at which the enemies spawn. It is hard to find the right line between spawning them too quickly and not quick enough. Here is a link to my game: http://tribe-games.com/games/glitch-in-the-system/

I hope you can find some help from it and I wish you luck on your journey to finishing your game.

    1. Hi,
Thanks for the comment. I could see how that would be an interesting design issue. I guess comparing how hard the game you think it should be, against how hard your testers found it would have been my approach. I could have similar issues with my game, despite it being a local versus multi-player game. I could easily randomise too many things at once leading to more frustration than fun for players. Thanks for the support, I’ll check out your game when I get the chance.
